UEN Resources

I'm super stoked to be blogging again!

I can use UEN Resources to help broadcast media activities and gain insight/assistance from other educators and professionals for my future classroom. It can be really beneficial as a teacher. I can also form my Lesson Plan for class with it (since we learned how to in class today). I now know how to connect with networks, guest speakers and teach with a technological side to it. With technology advancing, teachers need to stay up to date with what they can use to benefit their classrooms and teach their students. Using UEN Resources, teachers can rely on a whole network of options for their lessons. It's freaking awesome! :D

Educational Blogging

Blogging in educational environments can be quite useful for reading. Parents can read the teacher's blog to know about what they did in class and upcoming events. Students can use the blog to read different materials that correlate with the teacher's lesson plans.

As for the actual use of writing blogs, I think it would be beneficial for journal entries with students. But I am curious as to how early blogs would be used in the classroom. I'm currently working with 2nd graders for my practicum. They are just barely learning how to type on the keyboard. They wouldn't know how to use a blog if they are just barely learning a necessary skill of writing online. Otherwise it would take forever for a student to finger-poke their journal entry into the computer. Isn't time management really important in the classroom? Who would be viewing the blog and what if the kids used derogatory language about each other?

I'm a little iffy about having the kids use the blog to write but as for using a blog for reading purposes, I completely for it!
